Go On Thru
Adversity comes to all of us and in many different forms and in many ways. When we use the word adversity, we can be describing our misfortune’s, bad luck, trouble’s, difficult times, hardships and distress’s. That reminds me of the song Buck Owen’s & Roy Clark wrote when they were on Hee-Haw called GLOOM, DESPAIR AND AGONY ON ME. The first verse sums it all up. Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Deep, dark depression, excessive misery If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Man, do you ever feel like if it weren't for bad luck, you would have no luck. I have!
Adversity comes to stop us in our tracks. Adversity prevents us from enjoying the wonderful life God has promised us. King David had many opportunities in his life to live in gloom, despair agony, and defat when things were not going his way. Notice however, what he says in the Psalm 34 verse 6 “In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles.” King David said when It was hopeless, when it was impossible, when despair, anguish and distress were settling in to prevent me from going on thru I set his eyes on God and prayed. God heard and answered me and saved me from all my troubles. What is important to note there is no time frame indicated. This could have been instantaneous or there could have been a set time for this deliverance to occur
Just like King David we all have times, days, maybe years when thing are not really going our way, but we can take confidence in this point. We have a Shepherd who loves and will take of us. King David knew this as well when he said in psalms 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid.” So even when GLOOM, DESPAIR AND AGONY want to walk all over me he said I am going to walk on thru.
Rise up today! When adversity comes to stop you in your tracks just keep walking and walk on thru
