Called Not Cancelled
Why True Spiritual Leadership Still Matters
In a world that celebrates charisma over character and platforms over purpose, we’ve got to ask — what does real spiritual leadership look like today? 🤔
God is calling this generation — from Boomers to Gen Z — back to something deeper. He’s not trying to control us but prepare us. Every correction, every challenge, every hidden season is about getting ready for His presence to move in power. ⚡
🔥 Why Is God Bringing Correction to His Church?
Because He’s getting us ready for more. More presence. More purpose. More impact.
Isaiah 1:19 reminds us, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.” Obedience isn’t punishment — it’s positioning.
Some of us have held onto the vision but lost the mission. God’s saying, “Come back. Realign. Let Me make you ready for the next move.” 🌊
🙏 What Does It Mean to Be Called, Not Hired?
In Titus 1:5, Paul tells Titus to appoint leaders — not post job openings or take applications. Spiritual leadership isn’t something you apply for. It’s something God assigns.
Being called doesn’t automatically mean being ready. There’s a big difference between:
Having a calling vs. taking it seriously
Having skill vs. being spiritually equipped
When God appoints someone, He’s confirming what He’s already been building behind the scenes. 🧱
💎 Why Character > Charisma
Titus 1:6-7 gives us the blueprint for real leaders:
Faithful
Honest
Humble
Self-controlled
Responsible
Paul didn’t say “Find the most dynamic speaker” — he said “Find the most trustworthy heart.”
Charisma might get attention, but only character sustains anointing. You can impress people with your gifts, but only integrity keeps you standing when pressure hits. 💪
🚫 Why New Doesn’t Always Mean Ready
1 Timothy 3:6 warns that new believers shouldn’t be placed in leadership too soon — because pride can sneak in fast.
Here’s what happens when someone steps up before they’re ready:
Pride replaces purpose
Platform becomes the goal
Success becomes identity
Leadership isn’t a launchpad — it’s a journey. The longer you let God shape you in private, the stronger you’ll stand in public. 🌱
👥 Why Mentorship Still Matters
We live in a world that says, “I’ll figure it out myself.” But real growth happens in community.
If you’re young in faith 👇
Don’t walk alone
Find mentors who’ve been where you’re going
Remember: trending isn’t the same as tested
If you’re seasoned in leadership 👇
You’re still needed — your wisdom carries weight
Share your scars and stories, not just your wins
Build bridges, not walls
And Gen Z — this is big 👇
🎧 Podcasts don’t replace pastors
📱 YouTube can’t disciple your soul
🤝 Leadership isn’t about popularity — it’s about people
🏠 Why Family Leadership Comes First
Paul reminded leaders: if you can’t lead your home, you’re not ready to lead God’s house.
If your spouse doesn’t feel pastored, your platform doesn’t matter. If your kids don’t experience grace, your sermons won’t carry power.
Real leadership starts in the living room before it shows up in the pulpit. 🏡
💬 What Does Integrity Really Look Like?
Integrity isn’t about image — it’s about authenticity.
It means:
Being the same person off stage as you are on stage
Owning your mistakes and apologizing
Doing what’s right even when no one sees
Choosing obedience over optics
When no one’s watching, are you still leading like Jesus is? 👀
💡 Life Application
Ask yourself this week: Am I leadable?
When God corrects you, do you grow or ghost? When a pastor challenges you, do you get defensive or reflective?
Here’s how to level up your leadership:
🙌 Find a mentor or pastor and let them speak truth into you
💬 Be honest about where you’re struggling privately
💡 Choose purpose over platform
🧠 Stay teachable — you don’t outgrow guidance
❤️ Lead your home before you lead anyone else
🔍 Ask Yourself:
Am I chasing influence or intimacy with God?
Do I value clout more than character?
Would my family say I lead them with grace or with goals?
Am I faithful when no one’s watching?
✨ Remember: God’s not looking for perfect leaders — He’s looking for faithful ones. The ones who don’t quit when it’s hard. The ones who let Him build them in secret so they can shine in public. 🌟
You’re called, not cancelled. Don’t rush the process — let God do the work in you so He can work through you. 🙏
