This Ain’t Just Therapy
💪✨ Empowered to Heal: God’s Power in My Story
I’ll be honest—there have been moments I’ve wondered if what I’m doing is really making any difference. I’ve questioned whether my messages about mental health and trauma were actually helping anyone. But every time doubt crept in, God reminded me to stay the course —often through unexpected testimonies that confirmed lives were being changed in ways I couldn’t see at first. 💬❤️
🩺 Therapy vs. Spiritual Healing
I’m all for therapy—it’s an important tool God can use. But there’s something even more powerful available to us as believers. My own journey with panic attacks started years ago—completely out of nowhere. I went to doctors, psychiatrists, and took the medication they prescribed. But deep down, I knew I needed more than just clinical help.
So, I turned to the Word of God with everything I had. I made a list of healing scriptures, stood on God’s promises, and spoke truth—even when my body was screaming the opposite.
It wasn’t an overnight victory. For eight months, I battled panic attacks while declaring God’s Word. Slowly, the attacks became weaker. Then one day, the Lord asked me, “When was the last time you had a panic attack?”—and I realized…I couldn’t remember. 🙌
🔥 How the Holy Spirit Heals
Luke 4:18-19 has always been my anchor: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring good news… to set the oppressed free…”
That word “anointed” means empowered by the Holy Spirit—not just for physical healing, but for emotional and spiritual healing too. God cares about your whole being: body, mind, and spirit.
🛑 What If You’ve Given Up on Healing?
Some of us have been broken for so long, we’ve stopped expecting healing. Maybe for you it’s:
• A relationship that’s been fractured for decades 💔
• Emotional trauma you’ve learned to live around 🩹
• Faith that’s grown numb from disappointment 🙇♂️
But here’s the truth—sometimes healing takes time. And if you’re still breathing, God’s still working. Don’t bury what He’s willing to resurrect. ✝️
✋ Did Jesus Keep the Healing Power for Himself?
Acts 10:38 says “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power…” Jesus didn’t perform miracles until the Spirit came upon Him. And here’s the wild part—He didn’t keep that power to Himself. In John 14:12, He says, “Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done—and even greater…”
“Greater” doesn’t mean more powerful than Jesus—it means more widespread. One man in one place became millions of believers carrying His power everywhere. 🌎✨
⚡ How the Anointing Works
Think of the anointing like jumper cables. When your battery’s dead, someone with a charged battery connects to yours and transfers power. That’s what the Holy Spirit does—He connects His strength to your weakness.
When you’re plugged into Him, you’re not running on your own strength—you’re running on His. 🚗⚡
🙋 Can Ordinary Believers Bring Healing?
Absolutely. Mark 16:17-18 says healing signs will follow anyone who believes. This isn’t just for pastors or leaders—it’s for every believer.
I’ll never forget when God prompted me to pray for a stranger in public. Nothing dramatic happened right then, but weeks later they told me they’d been planning to take their life that day. That prayer reminded them they weren’t invisible. Sometimes healing is simply making someone feel seen and loved.
⏳ Is Healing Always Instant?
Not always. Isaiah 61:1-3 talks about beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning—these are transformations that often happen over time.
Healing isn’t always a single prayer moment—it’s the ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit that keeps the healing flowing. 💧
🛠 Life Application
If you want to step into Holy Spirit-powered healing, here’s where to start:
1️⃣ Be honest with God – Tell Him what hurts. He’s not afraid of your story.
2️⃣ Stay in the Word – Even one verse a day can be your anchor.
3️⃣ Ask for help – Healing flows through community.
4️⃣ Pray simply – “Holy Spirit, meet me here” is enough.
5️⃣ Practice rest – Don’t wait until burnout.
6️⃣ Expect progress, not perfection – One moment of peace is proof He’s working.
This week, I challenge you to hand one area of pain over to the Holy Spirit. Let Him be the jumper cables to your soul. Then, be ready—He may ask you to pass that same healing on to someone else.
Remember: Healing isn’t about “arriving.” It’s about walking one step at a time with the Spirit of God. And the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. 🔥🙌
